Prehospital & Retrieval Medicine Training

Ambulance Doctors

Since 2019, Mongolian ambulance doctors have participated in structured Prehospital and Retrieval Medicine training delivered by Emergency Medical Services Global Foundation instructors.

Paramedicine as a profession is not yet formally established in Mongolia. Our 4-day program equips ambulance doctors with:

  • Medical and trauma assessment in prehospital settings
  • Safe patient transport and retrieval
  •  Human factors and crew resource management
  • Mass-casualty and disaster triage
  • Clinical leadership and decision-making

September 2025: Second delivery of the course with updated curriculum and online learning integration.

Aeromedical Critical Care Training

National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) Doctors & Nurses

In 2023, NEMA aeromedical clinicians completed 10 days of intensive face-to-face training in aeromedical transport and critical care.

2024 included 5 days of advanced training with high-fidelity patient simulation to strengthen capabilities in out-of-hospital critical care.

Planning is underway for online learning modules to complement in-person training and create a sustainable national education pathway.

Where the project has delivered training so far, lives are being saved, patient outcomes have improved, and I expect this will continue as the project is implemented nationally.” — Mongolian Society for Emergency Medicine, 2023
